Dare I say this is better than leaving cookies for Santa? I love this recipe because you can make it ahead of time and just bake it right before serving!

Eggnog French Toast Casserole

Ingredients 

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 2 whole loaf of brioche medium thick sliced
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups eggnog
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Berries for serving
  • Maple syrup for serving

Directions 

  • Spread softened butter evenly around your baking dish and layer in your slices of brioche so that they over lap eachother.
  • In a large mixing bowl whisk together your eggs, eggnog, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. When well combined pour mixture over the layered brioche.
  • Preheat the oven to 375F. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over ther french toast. Bake for 40-50 minutes, until golden brown and crisp on the outside, then soft on the inside.
  • When golden and brown remove from the oven and sprinkle powdered sugar on top and serve and enjoy.
