Dare I say this is better than leaving cookies for Santa? I love this recipe because you can make it ahead of time and just bake it right before serving!
Eggnog French Toast Casserole
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter softened
- 2 whole loaf of brioche medium thick sliced
- 6 eggs
- 3 cups eggnog
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 3 tsp cinnamon
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Berries for serving
- Maple syrup for serving
Directions
- Spread softened butter evenly around your baking dish and layer in your slices of brioche so that they over lap eachother.
- In a large mixing bowl whisk together your eggs, eggnog, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. When well combined pour mixture over the layered brioche.
- Preheat the oven to 375F. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over ther french toast. Bake for 40-50 minutes, until golden brown and crisp on the outside, then soft on the inside.
- When golden and brown remove from the oven and sprinkle powdered sugar on top and serve and enjoy.
